Why write a poem at all?

Poetry is internal breathing.
It is the reason to go on living.
It is life after death.
It is the song of the after life.
It is also the life of the after song of the
after bite.
Don't pretend you didn't hear that.
Register silence to silence
and love to light but
Love, listen to the songs of the night!
they are different from any other beastly fight
They are are stellae spread out
like tear-drops in your eyes
that land on my palms
in the scent of psalms
I hear you are just a second away
these days
from realizing.
